A native fruit of South America, green papaya comes from a small tree which can grow up to 33 feet tall. The leaves of the papaya tree, which can grow up to 28 inches in diameter, are located at the top of the trunk. The green papaya fruit is a berry that can grow up to 17 inches long and up to 12 inches in diameter. Green papaya is now grown in several tropical environments around the world.
